Meet Louise Frazer
I believe every child is capable, competent and full of potential to communicate. My role is to help them discover that potential.
I'm Louise Frazer, a paediatric Speech and Language Therapist and the founder of Communicate Canterbury.
Communication is about so much more than talking. It's about getting your message across in any way possible — speech, signing, or using AAC — being understood, building relationships, developing confidence and taking a full part in everyday life.
I'm confident that the best outcomes happen when families and therapists work together. That's why I partner closely with parents and whānau, as well as with schools, providing practical strategies that fit naturally into everyday routines. By celebrating the small steps, we create the giant leaps that lead to lasting communication, confidence and self-belief.
I graduated from the University of Canterbury and have over 30 years of knowledge and expertise in the field of speech and language therapy. I have worked in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the Caribbean. Throughout my career I have been privileged to support well over a thousand children and their families, and I continue to expand my knowledge through ongoing professional development and, most importantly, from the children I have the pleasure of working with every day.
My goal is simple: to build on your child's strengths, support your family with evidence-based therapy, and help your child become the most confident communicator they can be.
Every child deserves to be heard, understood and confident in their communication. I'd love the opportunity to support your family as we work together toward that goal.
